Engine and Ladder run mutual aid to Island Heights

Ladder 2865 and Engine 2811 ran mutual aid to a dwelling fire on Summit Ave, in Island Heights. The company was alerted shortly after 14:00 hours to a fire in a single story wood frame dwelling. Companies encountered a very difficult to extinguish fire in the attic of the dwelling. The difficulty of the fire in addition to the high temperature and humidity greatly increased the need for additional manpower.

Water rescue vessel 2816 and crew spent their fourth of July evening on the Toms River, along with other Rescue, Fire, and Law Enforcement vessels to oversee the party on the water and ensure that everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Company holds township wide water rescue drill.

The East Dover Fire Company held an annual township wide water rescue drill on Tuesday evening located at Shelter Cove. The drill was comprised of a mock boat accident with 9 different patients located in multiple locations in the water. Rescues were conducted with swimmers on 5 different boats, a jet ski, and additional swimmers launched from land. The drill was a success and the company would like to thank Toms River Fire Company 1, Ocean Beach Fire Company, Silverton Fire Company, Pleasant Plains Fire Company, Island Heights Fire Company, East Dover First Aid, Silverton First Aid, Dover Brick First Aid, Toms River First Aid and everyone else whom participated. We would like to give a special thanks to the boy scouts and the explorers whom served as victims.

Steel Cage Dodge Ball on the Beach

East Dover Vol. Fire Co. #4 presents Steel Cage Dodge Ball on the Beach!
The event will be held on Saturday August 7, 2010 with a rain date of Saturday August 14,2010.

The Steel Cage Dodge Ball match will take place at the Shelter Cove Beach, located at the end of Bay Ave, in Toms River, NJ.

Team check in and late registration will begin at 12:00 pm, team captains meeting is at 12:30 pm, and at 1:00 pm the tournament will begin.

The double elimination tournament will cost $100.00 per 7 person team. There will be a spectator entrance fee of $5.00, however children under 12 will be allowed in for free.

There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as best uniform.

This is a double elimination tournament. Team Cpatains will be briefed on complete tournmanet rules and regulations on game day.

All registration forms are due by August 1, 2010.

Company runs structure fire on Mothers Day.

300) this.width=300" />Just before 1800 hours on Mothers Day, the company was alerted to a structure fire on Anthony Ave, in the Gilford Park section of Toms River. Station 53, the Island Heights Fire Company was also dispatched to the fire. Upon arrival of the first due fire officer, fire was showing from the "B" side of a single story dwelling. Engine 5301 was first on scene and stretched a hand line through the front door to make an attack on the fire. Crews from 2811 and 2865 stretched a backup line, performed searches, and performed ventilation. Overhaul was conducted by all crews, and the scene was turned over to the Toms Rive Bureau of Fire Prevention for investigation. More photos here. Courtesy Stacey Spotts

Ceremony for Frank Edgar UFC Champion

East Dover Fire Company held a ceremony at the firehouse for Frank 300) this.width=300" /> Edgar, a local resident who won the UFC Championship. He was recognized by the East Dover Fire Company, Toms River District 1 Board of Fire Commissioners, Congressman Adler's Office, and the Pleasant Plains Fire Department. 2865 runs Brookville Rd general alarm
