On Monday 2/17/2014 the East Dover Fire Company took delivery of a 2014 Pierce Arrow XT 100' ladder. The truck features a 100 straight stick with pre-piped waterway, 2000GPM Waterous pump, 500 gallon water tank, 6 man cab with 2 additional jump seats, 600' 5" LDH hose, 2-200' 1.75" pre-connected hoses, 1-200' 2.5" pre-connected hose. This truck also houses all of the company's extrication and technical rescue equipment. Members continue to work effortlessly mounting equipment to make the truck ready to go into service.

The truck will be second due to all structural incidents such as structure fires, odors of smoke inside, fire alarms, etc. The truck will be first due on all RIT/FAST requests, extrications, technical rescues, and mutual aid requests.

Resized ImageOn February 15, 2014 at 1:16 am The Toms River Police Department Dispatch Center received a call from a passing motorist that there was a home on fire. Police units responded to 499 Lakehurst Road to find flames shooting out from the front porch area of the home. As they approached the residence in anticipation of checking for potential victims they located an open side door however the fire was already out of control and the officers were driven back.
Toms River Fire Companies #1 and #2 as well as East Dover Fire Company responded to battle the blaze. At 2:12 am the fire was determined to be under control. A search of the home determined that it was vacant at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported in this incident.
